Sheeba, your account of Karkidakam turns a difficult season into a communal discipline of simplification, nourishment, prayer, and inward attention. That seasonal wisdom gives the issue its shape, allowing grace to appear across parenting, spiritual memory, inherited ritual, and the humility of revising what we once believed. The assurance that we will never walk through suffering alone becomes the thread connecting every piece you chose to place beside it. Grateful for the care with which you made a weekly collection feel like a place readers can enter, breathe, and notice who has been carrying them.
Rev. Kevin, I am so grateful for the way you read and comment. It feels like you step into my thoughts, understand exactly what I was hoping to convey, and then put it into words more beautifully than I ever could. Genuinely, I can't thank you enough. 🙏🤍
Sheeba, the trust behind these words means a great deal to me. Your collections invite close reading through the care with which you place season, Scripture, memory, and other writers into conversation, allowing meaning to live in the arrangement as fully as it does within each individual piece. I am grateful that my words reflected what you hoped readers would feel, and grateful for the hospitality your curation extends to everyone who enters it.
I gave myself grace this week when I had a long day and left the kitchen dirty. But I know that nobody is judging me except for myself. So I told myself it’s ok to put rest first, in fact, it’s not only ok, it’s a must do.
Ann, as a really organized person that must have actually been hard. Rest definitely comes first. Thank you for choosing to not judge yourself and putting yourself first ❤️
90% of me feels like I've read this already but I never don't reply if i read something so... I can't keep room for Grace because I don't really know what it is - but there's loads of room for stuff - you keep some room for my grace.
Maybe you feel that way because some of it is already in the post I linked. 😄 I certainly have kept some grace for you in all our chats. Remember how incredibly patient I was with you? 🤣 (Or maybe it was the other way around.)
On a more serious note, I do hope grace finds you in every way. ❤️
I don't know what grace is. It reminds me of the Nuns at school. Sister Savelon (i think) - didn't like her much. She smacked me with a wooden ruler once.
No, but my dad worked in Bangalore for a year when I was in my first year of college and told me about his experience. My mom went out there too. So, that has nothing to do with Kerala except that it’s in the south. However, our favorite show Good Karma Hospital is supposed to be based in Kerala. It’s actually filmed in Uwatumamuma Sri Lanka. I think maybe in a past life I lived in India. Maybe I was a British soldier
Love the question about noticing grace in small moments, and the little illustrated details throughout are such a nice touch. Keeping room for grace this week
Sheeba, this genuinely made my day. Thank you for featuring my piece, it is an honour! And honestly, being tucked in next to your reflection on grace this week feels like more than coincidence. Thank you for that.

I love Kerala
Me too! Have you been here?
